Troon Vineyard is situated in the Apple gate valley with beautiful views of the mountains. My first impression as we drove through its gates was that of awe. It had everything. A beautifully decorated tasting room, elaborate wine list, indoor and outdoor seating and grassy lawns that looked like the pictures in home décor magazine. It was perfect! At a drivable distance from Grants Pass, Medford and Ashland this winery is a great addition to your trip to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. We were lucky to see some wild life on the way! The Southern Oregon wines of Troon Vineyard are inspired by the wines of the Mediterranean coasts of Southern Europe. Being the designated driver I decided not to try the wine on that trip but promise to do so the next time I visit this beauty. An interesting fact about the vineyards is that they are all LIVE and Salmon Safe certified and implement bio dynamic and organic practices. Another fun fact – The grapes are harvested by hand and crushed by foot. Do write to me if you happen to try the wine. I so hope to be there soon.
