No trip to Hood River is complete without a stop at The Gorge White House. This beautiful vineyard and orchard is also home to the historic century old house which makes it a treat for history and vino buffs alike. The vista is picture perfect and boasts of mountain views, where our family spent hours picking berries, tasting ciders and hogging on the yummy food from the food cart. My kids loved the ice cream bought from the onsite store. Win! Win! In their cider tasting room we enjoyed a flight of hard ciders with a snack hot off the grill. My favorite was the crisp and fruity hard pear cider. Delish! This place is what heaven must feel like and why I love Oregon as much as I do. It’s part of the “fruit loop” and a great place for U-pick with the littles.
