Ruby is a family-owned and operated winery and vineyard located in in the Chehalem Mountains in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. While the vineyard has been in existence since the 70s Ruby’s first commercial vintage and tasting room is only a few years old. Co-owned by Stephen Hendricks and Flora Habibi, Ruby was named after Flora’s favorite gemstone. We visited the vineyard during our trip to Sauvie Island and immediately fell in love with the wine and the views. Famous for their Pinots we bought their 2017 Gewurztraminer and Rose of Pinot Gris. I will be doing a tasting of these two in my YouTube video blog. While their wines speak for themselves it’s also their mission that’s commendable. Ruby vineyards are dry-farmed using sustainable agricultural practices. It’s also one of the few vineyards in the area that is organic and LIVE certified. A beautiful drive from the tech quarters this is a must visit with friends and family.
